Doctors recommend a simple trick to help control stress-related eating. Just eat this frozen “fruit”, which is very easy to find in Thailand.
The New York Post reported that Dr. Jason Singh, a family physician from Virginia, USA, posted a video clip via TikTok account @drjaysonisfresh, suggesting simple tips for dealing with stress-related cravings. He suggested trying to slowly dissolve a “frozen grape” in your mouth.
“Cold temperatures activate cold receptors called TRPM8 in the mouth. Which trigger the release of dopamine, a feel-good chemical that we crave when we feel stressed,” explains Dr Singh.
Normally, the cold receptor TRPM8 (Transient receptor potential melastatin subtype 8) is activated by temperatures below core body temperature. Typically around 26°C (76°F), and studies have shown that TRPM8 is actually activated at temperatures as low as 10°C (48°F).
Stimulation of TRPM8 receptors can inhibit the release of CGRP, a neurotransmitter that decreases dopamine in the brain, and increase levels of interleukin-10. A protein that communicates between immune cells in the body and counteracts inflammation in the body that occurs in response to stressful or stressful situations.
Dr. Singh also explains that the cold from frozen grapes stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system (the body’s resting nervous system), slowing the heart rate and breathing. Lowering blood pressure and levels of the stress hormone cortisol, and improving digestion.
Finally, Dr. Singh said that chewing grapes stimulates the salivary glands to produce saliva. Tricking the brain into thinking that the body has eaten food and feels full, reducing stress eating.
“So next time you feel stressed, try eating some frozen grapes,” said Dr. Singh.
Grapes are also considered a good โปรโมชั่น ufabet fruit for weight loss because they are relatively low in calories. One cup (about 92 grams) of grapes provides about 62 calories. Grapes are also high in water and fiber. They are a good source of vitamins C and K and contain the antioxidant resveratrol. Which is beneficial for heart health.
